The Portuguese Bicycle Industry Innovation Center (BIKiNNOV) visited the Cycling & Health Tech Industry R&D Center (CHC) on September 14. CHC General Manager Alex Lee accompanied the delegation during the visit and exchanged insights with BIKiNNOV Technology Director César Coutinho and Technical Director Bernardo Guerreiro. The visit provided an opportunity for BIKiNNOV to gain a deeper understanding of CHC’s capabilities in product R&D, testing and certification, and technical services.

During the visit, CHC introduced its laboratory facilities, technical services, and various R&D and testing capabilities for bicycle products. The two organizations also exchanged views on technological developments, testing and certification, and potential areas for future collaboration. Through this technical exchange, both sides gained a better understanding of the needs and development trends of the bicycle industries in Taiwan and Europe in areas including R&D, testing, and standards application.

In March this year, CHC and BIKiNNOV officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), establishing a foundation for collaboration between Taiwan and Europe in testing, standards, and technology. BIKiNNOV has long focused on innovation in the bicycle industry, with capabilities in material analysis, product testing, and process technology integration. CHC, meanwhile, has accumulated extensive expertise in bicycle product R&D, testing and certification, and system integration. By leveraging their respective strengths, the two organizations can further explore opportunities for technological collaboration and industrial applications.

As bicycle products continue to evolve toward electrification, smart technologies, and high-performance applications, international markets are also imposing increasingly stringent requirements for product safety, quality, environmental performance, and sustainability. Through continued exchanges and collaboration between technology organizations in Taiwan and Europe, CHC and BIKiNNOV look forward to deepening cooperation in R&D, testing, and standards, helping the industry stay informed about international technological and regulatory developments, strengthen its ability to respond to changes in global markets, and explore new opportunities for innovation and growth across the bicycle industry.
