Legislator Hsieh Yi-fong and Director-General Kuo Chao-chung of the Department of Industrial Technology, Ministry of Economic Affairs visited CHC (Cycling & Health Tech Industry R&D Center) on July 6, 2026, to inspect the “AI Common Model and Pilot Production Field for the Bicycle Industry.” The visit provided an opportunity to learn more about CHC’s achievements in assisting the bicycle industry in adopting AI technologies, advancing smart manufacturing, and enhancing testing and verification capabilities. The delegation also expressed recognition of CHC’s capacity to promote practical AI applications.


With the “AI Common Model and Pilot Production Field” as its core, CHC integrates capabilities in product design, process optimization, quality inspection, and industry services. During the product development stage, CHC introduces AI knowledge bases, RAG retrieval technology, and design-assistance tools to help companies rapidly access specifications, patents, regulations, and market information. During the manufacturing and testing stages, CHC applies technologies such as AI welding parameter models, AI defect inspection, X-ray image recognition, and acoustic recognition to strengthen process optimization and quality assessment capabilities. These efforts help companies reduce R&D trial-and-error costs while improving product development efficiency and quality stability.

In addition, to expand the application benefits of AI technologies in the bicycle manufacturing industry, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has also launched the “Industrial Competitiveness AI Advisory Team Action Plan—AI Digital Transformation Guidance.” Targeting companies with needs for AI-driven upgrading and transformation, the initiative provides AI diagnostic and advisory services, covering needs assessment, implementation evaluation, and the selection of appropriate tools and technologies. Through this program, companies are supported in adopting suitable AI tools to accelerate process improvement, quality enhancement, and smart upgrading.
