The Cycling & Health Tech Industry R&D Center (CHC) announced the retirement of its General Manager, Johnson Wu on December 25, 2025, upon completion of his term. Since taking office in late 2022, General Manager Wu led CHC through a period of global uncertainty marked by post-pandemic impacts, geopolitical risks, inflation, and sharp fluctuations in the bicycle industry. His steady leadership strengthened CHC’s governance, financial stability, and role as a key public institution connecting government, industry, and international partners.
During Wu's term, CHC aligned with national policy priorities including electrification, AI adoption, smart manufacturing, net-zero transitions, and international regulatory alignment, while deepening global collaboration and talent development to support industry transformation.
At the First Meeting of its 12th Board of Directors on December 26, 2025, CHC appointed Dr. Alex Lee as its new General Manager. With a strong background in science and engineering and extensive experience across public research institutions, government policy, and industry, Dr. Lee is expected to enhance CHC’s roles in technology integration, policy support, and industry partnership.

Dr. Lee emphasized that the current industry adjustment presents a critical opportunity for Taiwan’s bicycle industry to accelerate structural transformation. CHC will focus on low-carbon innovation, AI, and international connectivity to support upgrades across R&D, manufacturing, and market deployment, reduce transformation risks, and strengthen global competitiveness.
Looking ahead, CHC will continue to evolve into a one-stop innovation and industry service platform, expand international engagement through major exhibitions such as Taipei Cycle and Eurobike, and position Taiwan’s bicycle industry as a trusted global partner in low-carbon, smart, and health technologies.
