The Yunlin Love Without Barriers Association completed a 20-day handcycle tour around Taiwan this December, using handcycles developed by the Cycling & Health Tech Industry R&D Center (CHC).
Founded nine years ago, the association aims to encourage people with disabilities to step outside and engage with the world. They established a hand-cycling team, where participants used their hands to propel the handcycles. This year marks the second time they have organized the handcycle island tour.
A group of 20 members began their journey on December 3rd, covering approximately 1,500 kilometers. Along the way, they visited temples and community centers and participated in public music performances. They were also joined by individuals with disabilities from Japan, hoping that this event would inspire more people with disabilities to step outside and embrace life. CHC is pleased to see more people participating in hand-cycling activities, which helps increase the disabled community engagement.
